Erika Tanguay

Motivated and Sympathetic Bilingual Physiotherapy Resident Erika Tanguay graduated from the University of Ottawa with a M.Sc. in Physiotherapy, after completing her B.Sc. (Honours) with Specialization in Kinesiology at Queen’s University in Kingston. During her physiotherapy degree she acted as an ambassador on the Consortium National de Formation en Santé (CNFS) which has efforts to promote French health care programs to serve francophone minority populations. She is proud that this bilingual program has trained her to serve members of the community in both official languages. Erika leads an active lifestyle and is committed to helping others in her community return to activities of daily life and sport. Her therapeutic approach combines manual therapy, education, and exercise-based rehabilitation to help with injury prevention and rehabilitation needs. Her client-centered care helps each person gather the tools they need to return to functional independence by creating rehabilitation programs tailored to each individual’s specific goals. Erika has completed the following courses:
  • Non-Internal Introductory Pelvic Health Course (Pelvic Health Solutions)
  • The Physical Therapy Approach to Anyone Experiencing Urinary Incontinence (Pelvic Health Solutions Level 1)
  • Prenatal Physiotherapy: Building Maternal Capacity through the Trimesters (Embodia)
Moving forward, Erika aims to prioritize her interests in expanding her knowledge and expertise with athletic populations, individuals with arthritis, and in pelvic floor rehabilitation. When not at the clinic Erika can be found outside, hiking with her dog, or taking advantage of whatever seasonal activity is accessible whether that be mountain biking, rock climbing, or downhill skiing.
